POLAND: May 3 - Constitution Day commemorating the signing of the Constitution of May 3 in 1791 /in Wroclaw

The Constitution of May 3, 1791 (Polish: Konstytucja Trzeciego Maja) is generally recognized as Europe's first modern codified national constitution, as well as the second-oldest national constitution in the world.
The May 3rd Constitution was designed to redress long-standing political defects of the federative Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and its traditional system of "Golden Liberty."  For the first time this year was celebrates also in Lithuania. This day is celebrated with soldiers presentations, historical performances, masses.. In Warsaw it is the 'open day' in Parliament - people can visit Belweder, the Parliament building. In Wroclaw there was a a soldier presentation, mass celebrated by bishop in Cathedral and special official event at the Constitution monument.

Happily we have an exibition of original constitution (and some other important documents) - hand-written and the first publication. For the first time we can see them in Wroclaw and.. here you are - on the left hand write Constitution.
